Carpathian active adventure Tour

Calling all nature lovers! This is your chance to experience Europe’s unspoilt wilderness frontier. On this tour you will walk through the hills and meadows of the Carpathian Mountains where local guides will keep you fully informed on the native flora and fauna. We’ll also visit the famously beautiful, UNESCO protected wooden churches of Transcarpathia.

You will enjoy the hospitality of local families throughout your stay and really experience at first hand the traditional Carpathian way of life. You will dine on traditional meals, freshly prepared by local families. And you’ll get a chance to dance at a traditional Ukrainian party with the Hudaki Village Band.

You will be able to really get under the skin of this rural lifestyle by visiting local farms and social projects. There’s also an opportunity to explore the strong link between nature, local produce and crafts as you learn traditional skills and take part in workshops with local craftsmen.

Experienced local guides will be on hand throughout your stay to help ensure your holiday runs smoothly and is full of wonderful and unique experiences. For this tour we advise to travel to Budapest, Hungary and fly back from Budapest as well.

We advise on the best flights to travel to Budapest, and arrange for you to be met at the airport.

Detailed itinerary

Day 1
Meeting at Budapest  Airport and driving to the picturesque village in Transcarpathia, staying with local families.
 
Day 2
Here’s a chance to find your feet and explore the village of Nyzhnie Selyshche. You will have the chance to visit the local market and in the evening your first taste of Ukrainian hospitality as we dine together and learn the secret skill of toasting Ukrainian style.
 
Day 3 - 7
Encounter nature at its most unspoiled and beautiful as you trek through the Carpathian Mountains. From beautiful wild flower meadows, to thick forests, and powerful waterfalls, you will experience the awe inspiring natural beauty of the Carpathian wilderness. You’ll receive a warm welcome and wonderful hospitality from local people as you really get back to nature sleeping in "bothy" style wooden hut.
 
Day 7
The final day of trekking in this wonderful region before we travel back to the village of Nyzhnie Selyshche where we spend the night. 
 
Day 8
An absolute treat – there’s so much on offer at the picturesque village of Nyzhnie Slyshche. Try your hand on foraging, walking or simply relax and take in the beautiful views.
In the evening we enjoy a wonderful Ukrainian party with live music and dancing.
 
Day 9
Departure to Budapest, Ukraine.
