Detailed itinerary

​

Day 1
We will start  our walking tour in Tbilisi. We will meet at 12am in Tbilisi, have a lunch together and enjoy guided  tour around this beautiful city, then we visit National Museum and retire into one of the best restaurants in Tbilisi to have some food and sample delicious organic wines.

We will fetch overnight sleeping train to Zugdidi in the evening. 

Day 2

 Our private minibus pick you up in Zugdidi in the morning to get you to our destination - the village of Chvabiani near Mestia in Svaneti Region. This will be our base for the whole walking tour. We will stop on a way to visit churches and monasteries and to have a delicious picnic breakfast near the river before with get to our guest house. In the afternoon we will enjoy a welcoming lunch and later dinner prepared by our hosts.

Day 3

We will visit Mestia - the centre of Svaneti Region. We will enjoy an informative morning at the Svaneti Ethnographic Museum in Mestia and then we walk around the beautiful town visiting old church from 11th century and meeting a local restorer.

Day 4

Walking day from Mestia to the Chalaadi Glacier.  Exploring the beautiful and diverse nature along the Mestiachala river.

Day 5
Walking day from Mestia to the Koruldi Lakes. Spectacular views surround these beautiful alpine lakes.
 

Day 6
Walking day from Latali to Mkheri church.  Steep hike to the remote Mkheri church at the foothills of Mount Layla.

 
Day 7
Walking day from Mestia via Tsvirmi via the Zuruldi Massif.  With views of Ushba, Tetnuldi and Layla.  With the option of riding the Hatsvali cable car on the ascent.

Day 8
A gentle morning walk around the village of Chvabiani and farewell Georgian party with singing and dancing in the evening.

Day 9

Transfer to Zugdidi, with stops at Dadiani Palace, where you can get a sleeper train back to Tbilisi.
